The Postgraduate Program in Territories and Cultural Expressions in the Cerrado (TECCER) of the Universidade Estadual de Goiás (UEG) has the nature of an interdisciplinary academic master's degree and the purposes of training and graduating professionals to work in higher education teaching, in scientific research and in the development of multidisciplinary activities inherent to the areas related to the Program.
The TECCER Postgraduate Program, at Master's level, is also intended to train high-level researchers in the interdisciplinary domain of Territories and Cultural Expressions in the Cerrado; to contribute to the training of high-level professional professors; to stimulate the university environment and provide permanent updating, improvement and specialization conditions to the graduates of the region; to produce knowledge in the specific domains within the lines of research offered by the major areas of the course; to promote the dissemination and exchange of the scientific production of the course.
TECCER proposes to broaden the perspectives of analysis, presenting an interdisciplinary character, with a focus on the Cerrado, encompassing several areas of knowledge: History, Geography, Economics, Architecture and Urbanism, Sociology, Theology and Biology.
The main focus of TECCER is the Brazilian Cerrado, conceived as a “domain”, in which history, nature, culture and society intertwine. Thus, the objective of the Program is to propose a study of the Cerrado from theoretical-methodological categories of human sciences and social sciences, which takes account of its historical, environmental, cultural and social particularities.
